Pet Rocket

Go up. Come home. Bring stars.

A cat astronaut peeking out of a cream and coral pet rocket among the stars

Your first flight

  1. Pick Solo or Duo. Solo uses one rocket. Duo launches a cat and a dog together with independent endpoints and separate Collect buttons.
  2. Choose a captain in Solo. Mango is an orange cat; Biscuit is a corgi. Both fly with exactly the same rules.
  3. Pack stars. Start with 1,000 game stars. The default flight carries 25. In Duo this means 25 per rocket, 50 in total. Use the minus and plus buttons or enter a whole number you can afford.
  4. Launch. Your packed stars leave your balance and the multiplier rises from 1.00×. The green Collect button shows how many stars you could return now.
  5. Collect in time. Tap Collect before the engine fizzles to return your packed stars multiplied by the current multiplier.
  6. Fly again. The completed curve stays still so you can see where that flight ended. Your last six flights appear along the bottom of the scene; narrow screens show four.

Two rockets, two decisions

Switch to Duo between flights. Launch both sends Mango and Biscuit up at the same moment and deducts both loads from one shared star balance. The gold cat button collects Mango; the blue dog button collects Biscuit. Collect either one first. A collected or fizzled rocket stops while the other continues.

Each rocket samples its own random endpoint. One can fizzle immediately while the other is still flying. Both use the same multiplier growth, so their multipliers match while both are flying. Neither rocket affects the other's odds. Wait for both to finish before launching another pair, changing modes or resetting stars.

Use A to collect Mango and L to collect Biscuit. Space launches a pair when neither is flying; it does not collect both together. On a phone, the two large buttons work independently.

Stars, fizzles and safe landings

Collecting 25 stars at 1.50× returns 37.50 stars, including the 25 you packed. Your total balance becomes 1,012.50 if you started with 1,000. A fizzle returns zero stars from that flight. The toy engine pops into sparks and soft smoke, then the pet capsule opens a parachute and floats safely home.

Every launch independently chooses a hidden random endpoint between 1.00× and 20.00×. Endpoints are not equally likely: short flights are more common, and about 4% fizzle immediately at 1.00×. Collecting early can still fail. Your choice of pet, packed stars, past flights and click timing do not change the sampled endpoint. Recent results cannot predict the next flight.

The multiplier follows the original Rocket project's exponential growth, about 13.9% per second before rounding. It reaches 2× in about 5.3 seconds if the flight lasts that long. At the endpoint, fizzle takes priority over collecting. Switching tabs does not pause a flight: a late Collect still loses even if the screen stopped updating.

Reset stars restores the balance to 1,000 between flights. It keeps recent flight markers and does not alter future endpoints. Stars exist only in this browser game; there are no purchases, cash rewards, prizes or transfers.

Small controls, a clear view

Click or tap Launch, then Collect. The Collect estimate uses fixed-width whole stars to keep the number calm; the ≈ symbol marks that estimate. Final payouts and the wallet retain exact two-decimal scoring. In Solo, press Space while the page itself is focused to do the same; with a control focused, use its normal keyboard action. Tab reaches every button. You cannot change the captain, packed stars, help or reset during a flight. A brief pause after settlement prevents a double click from starting another flight by accident.

Sound starts off. Tap the music note to enable soft launch and collection tones. The question mark opens a short picture guide between flights. Your system's reduced-motion preference removes idle bobbing, flame flicker and flying explosion particles, and opens the parachute immediately while keeping the flight curve readable.

The layout adapts to phones and desktops. If WebGL is unavailable or the graphics context is lost, an illustrated rocket takes over and the controls still work. Gameplay and scores stay on this device. Refreshing or leaving starts a fresh game; no account or device sensors are needed.

Meet the pawstronauts

Mango is an orange tabby with tiny pink ears and paws on the window sill. Biscuit is a brown-and-cream corgi with floppy ears. Their cream rocket has a coral nose, mint fins and a paw badge. The characters and ship are original procedural 3D artwork made for this adaptation.

PetDoing adapted its independently developed Rocket game, preserving the original round timing, endpoint selection, collection rules and continuous curve scaling. Only this rocket game was brought into the pet playroom. This is an on-screen toy for people; no real animals are involved.
